   Heatherly Carlson , M.A.
Research Assistant



Heatherly CarlsonHeatherly Carlson joined the Reading Center in 2008. She holds a BS in Business Administration from Fairfield Universitywith a minor in Psychology. Her initial occupation was that of managerial accountant with Watson Pharmaceuticals (formerly Schein Pharmaceuticals). Prior to receiving her Master of Arts in Psychology, she was an intern at Connecticut Mental Health Care and a graduate assistant for Southern Connecticut State University Dept of Psychology. More recently, she worked as a psychology technician and later as a statistical assistant with the Work Rehabilitation Studies Program at VA CT Healthcare System from 1998 – 2007. At the VA, she acted as financial manager, data manager, HIPAA compliance officer and statistical assistant for several large, multi-site, longitudinal studies funded by the VA Rehabilitation R&D and National Institutes of Mental Health. She has served as a statistical consultant for investigators and doctoral dissertation candidates alike. Heatherly’s analytical contributions have been published in peer reviewed research journals such as Acta Psychiatrica Scandinavica and Psychiatry Research. Her experience with children includes previous volunteer work with The Leukemia Society and Head Start Policy Council. She currently volunteers her time teaching dance to children at a local studio. Heatherly intends to pursue a PhD in Developmental Psychology in the near future.
